The weather has definitely turned Autumnal this week, it’s raining, cold at night, and I am wearing a cardigan. I finished two jersey tops this weekend that will probably not get worn much this side of Spring 2014.
I had some print jersey left from my Tiramisu dress, not enough for a tank top but enough for some sleeves. I bought some cerise viscose jersey in Goldhawk road for the body. I also bound the neck line in the print. It’s turned out well, and I will enjoy wearing this. This is the third time I’ve used this pattern and I’m sure there will be more. It fits me well, although the pattern is really long in the body. I shortened it by 2″ and there is still plenty to tuck in. If I wanted to wear it loose I think I would shorten it again.
I won a small piece of Liberty jersey on ebay, which was enough to make a Maria Denmark Just a Tank. I used some maroon viscose jersey to bind the neckline and armholes. As before when I made this out of coral interlock, I needed to take in some excess under the arms. I think I should have removed a little more as the armhole is still slightly wavy. Also I should take in a pinch as the centre back, to make the back neck lie completely flat.
Even if I don’t wear the maxi skirt again, the tank will work as an under layer.
That’s enough of the light clothing, I have an Autumn 6PAC to work on!
