Now the 6PAC is finished; I present the Cordova Jacket.
This is not my favourite piece of the 6PAC. I bought some pale green linen which originally was intended to be a skirt, but changed my mind and used it for the Sewaholic Cordova. It is too pale for me to wear close to my face, I should avoid all pastels really. You ought to see me in pale yellow!
Also the neckline is a bit high to be really flattering for me, I have seen a version of the Cordova where the sewist added a little mandarin collar. That would probably work on me, should I make another version. I like the pleated sleeve caps, they add shoulder width.
The pattern came together easily, Tasia gives very clear instructions, and of course she drafts for my body shape. Still, I don’t love this jacket. I have had advice on the Stitchers Guild website, that maybe a scarf in complementary colours would help. It probably would, but this summer I cannot bear the idea of a scarf.
I think that this design needs lots of topstitching or interesting textures to work. Ah well, you can’t make a winner every time.
The 6PAC as a whole I count a success. I have worn every piece, and they work with the rest of my summer wardrobe.
Still, there are some summer weeks ahead, and I have some more items to blog about soon.
